Batch Mills

Batch mills have been succesfully operated for many years in the ceramics industry. 

With the beneficial effect of increased capacities due to technological developments in recent years, batch mills are now compared with continuous mills in different applications.

The biggest advantage implementing a production system with batch mills is that due to there being several batch mills working in the same facility simultaneously, in the event of a problem, the production still proceeds. Beside this, as they are not reqiured to be actively operating non-stop, during periods of energy cost spikes it is possible to create a flexible production plan to adjust the batch mills working hours to obtain a cost-effective production.

 

 

Batch mills are absolutely necessary in glase preparation, vitrified production, and in the porcelain industry. They make using more precise recipes feasable, allow for the production of a more homogeneous slurry.
